Bizarre Brooklyn Street Scene #1: Push-ups

8 AM. Corner of Washington and DeKalb. An old man sits behind the wheel of a white, unmarked van, idling at the curb. The sliding side door is open. A younger man in jeans and a plain white t-shirt is on the sidewalk next to the van, doing push-ups. After about 30 (by my count), he stopped, got back in the van, and the old man exclaimed “Let THAT be a LESSON to ya!”
